Enicar Sherpa Guide

One of my personal all time favorite watches, this watch is just cool looking! If you take a look at the watch you will notice that there is an extra hand instead of the 3 hands that depict hours, minutes, seconds. The Enicar Sherpa Guide feature one more hand its a 24 hour hand, while the hour hand makes a full revolution from 12:00 back to 12:00 every 12 hours the minute hand making a revolution every hour the 24 hour hand make a revolution only one time a day (24 hours). The reason for this is that the Sherpa Guide can track a second time zone. Which comes in handy for people who travel alot, you can put your time for lets say Los Angles and still know what time it is in London. Just by using the 24 hour hand and the internal bezel which features a 24 hours of the day on it.

The watch features a black dial, yellow and blue internal bezel with white, red and checkered colored hands, Date featured at 3:00 position. Early Wrist Watch History

In 1904, Alberto Santos-Dumont, an early aviator, asked his friend, a French watchmaker called Louis Cartier, to design a watch that could be useful during his flights. The wristwatch had already been invented by Patek Philippe, in 1868, but only as a "lady’s bracelet watch", intended as jewelry. As pocket watches were unsuitable, Louis Cartier created the Santos wristwatch, the first man's wristwatch and the first designed for practical use.

Wristwatches gained in popularity during World War I, when officers found them to be more convenient than pocket watches in battle. Also, because the pocket watch was mainly a middle class item, the enlisted men usually owned wristwatches, which they brought with them. Artillery and infantry officers depended on their watches as battles became more complicated and coordinated attacks became necessary. Wristwatches were found to be needed in the air as much as on the ground: military pilots found them more convenient than pocket watches for the same reasons as Santos-Dumont had. Eventually, army contractors manufactured watches en masse, for both infantry and pilots. In World War II, the A-11 was a popular watch among American airmen, with its simple black face and clear white numbers for easy readability.

Seiko Diver

The Seiko 7002 series of diving watches is the fourth generation of Seikos (normally aspired) professional/recreational ISO-rated automatic diving watches (this does not include Seikos deep diving shrouded divers or Seikos intro level ISO-rated quartz divers). The 7002 line of divers replaced the 6309 in 1988 and ran until 1996. It was replaced by the SKX line of divers in 1996. The 7002s use an entirely different movement from prior 6000 series based models used in earlier divers. The 7002s (especially the second generation) introduced many design changes to Seiko divers that are with us to this day.

The 7002 divers came in two generations spanning eight models. Both generations shared the same slimed-down case similar to the one introduced by the second generation 6309 divers, and a form of which is still in use to this day.

The watch features a blue dial with silver colored hands, Date featured at 3:00 position. The face reads Seiko Automatic, Water 150M Resist, 17 Jewel, Made In Japan. History Of Enicar

1 October 1913, in the Swiss region of Rue du Crêt in La Chaux-de-Fonds was the start of a company to be called Enicar. Enicar is the family name Racine spelled backwards, since the name Racine was already in use since 1870.

They invent various stunts to attract media and consumers. Some watches are attached - for several weeks - to the hull or keel of an ocean steamer to demonstrate how waterproof the watches are. These 'Seapearl' watches - Enicar's version of the Rolex Oyster - are still wanted among divers.

On May 18, 1956 a Swiss expedition reaches the summit of the Lhotse Mountain (8516 meters) in the Himalayas, followed by the summit of the Mount Everest (8848 meters) four days later. All expedition members are wearing an ENICAR Seapearl wrist watch. They all turned out to be very reliable - as the sherpa's were - which led to the brand name ENICAR Sherpa. In 1959 the ENICAR Sherpa-Graph was introduced, featuring the Valjoux 72 movement as the contemporary Rolex Daytona! The ENICAR Sherpa becomes the 'father' of many fashionable watches; over one hundred different designs are leaving the factory.

Swiss made ENICAR watches (1913-1988) were and still are high end wrist watches, that were/are equaling the quality of watches made by Rolex, Omega, IWC and many others. On second hand markets prices are remaining relatively high. Very early AR branded watches and clocks made for the aviation industry have become very rare.

Vintage Swiss Made Tressa Divers Watch, this watch is RARE. With Era Correct Band and the hands and dial still glow bright! Buying an automatic Swiss Made Diver like this today would cost about 10 times more than you will find here.

VOSTOK Sputnik

History changed on October 4, 1957, when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik I. The world's first artificial satellite was about the size of a beach ball (58 cm.or 22.8 inches in diameter), weighed only 83.6 kg. or 183.9 pounds, and took about 98 minutes to orbit the Earth on its elliptical path. That launch ushered in new political, military, technological, and scientific developments. While the Sputnik launch was a single event, it marked the start of the space age and the U.S.-U.S.S.R space race. This watch was created as a propaganda tool to help promote the launch. This is a really neat watch, at the 6:00 position there is a depiction of the Sputnik satellite in space that rotates 360 degrees to show the seconds of the day.

It is a great condition Russian Made Vostok watch dating from 1959 featuring a cream colored dial with gold colored markers. Seconds sub hand is at the 6:00 position, case is Chrome plated base metal. The face reads Sputnik Satellite(Russian) and Made In USSR in (Russian). The Case Back reads . Watch is in running condition Sold As is but was recently serviced. All in all in great shape considering the age.

History of THE ROCKET!

April 12, 1961 Yuri Gagarin made the first flight in the history of mankind in outer space on the rocket Vostok 1. In honor of Yuri Gagarin the Petrodvorets Watch Factory named its watches "Raketa," or "rocket" in Russian. At the height of the Cold War, however, the name "Raketa" was perceived negatively in the West, as the word was associated with the latest generation of Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles, the R-16.
Before the Petrodvorets Watch Factory began to produce watches, it produced objects made of precious and semi-precious stones for the Tsar and his family. Later, it began to produce goods for military manufacturers as well as jewels" for the watch industry. In 1949 the factory released the first watches under the names Zvezda and Pobeda. The factory's own watches, sold under the brand name Raketa, first appeared in 1961 and the factory also began to manufacture its own movements, like the «Raketa - 2609N». Over the years, the Petrodvorets Watch Factory produced more than two dozen versions Raketa movements. Some were equipped with features such as automatic winding, calendars, 24-hour models for polar explorers, anti-magnetic watches (for use in case of a nuclear attack), as well as watches for the military. Mechanical Raketa watches produced in Petrodvorets were exported to many Eastern Bloc and communist countries and are considered one of the most durable and reliable movements in the world and by the 1980s Raketa was producing 4.5 million watches a year.

RAKETA Perpetual Calender Watch USSR

A Cold War Era Blast From The Past! I usualy get excited about all my watches but this one has to take the cake its just so darn COOL! First off the watch is pre 1991 so it has the original USSR marking on it, and all writting on the watch is in Russian including the days of the week. Second it has a calender function that is very unique it shows the actual year on the bottom of the watch dial and the date at both the 3:00 position and at the top of the dial at the 12:00. Here is a good condition Russian Made Raketa Perpetual Calender watch dating from the 1980's or featuring a black dial with cream colored markers. Date and Day function at 3:00 As well as Year at the 6:00 and day at 12:00 position(not working), case is Chrome plated base metal. The face reads Raketa and Made In USSR in (Russian). The Case Back reads 483. Watch is in running condition with minor pitting to the back of the watch along with scratches to the case and minor scratches to the crystal. Enicar Unltrasonic

Enicar was created when Artiste Racine (Racine Watch Co.) spelled his name backwards and created a hearty brand that many people are unfamiliar over 90 years later. A special time existed for Enicar in the sixties and seventies when they developed their own automatic movements & focused on sport watches in addition to the rare odd vintage-modern designs.

The watch features a gold hued dial with gold colored hands, Seconds sub dial featured at 6:00 position. The face reads Enicar UltraSonic, 17 Jewel AntiMagnetic. The case back reads Enicar Stainless Steel Back, AnitMagnetic, Swiss Made. Showing minor scratches on the crystal and scratches to the base metal on the case.

Chateau GMT

Here is a good condition Chateau GMT Dive Style Watch 1970's featuring a Black dial with silver colored markers and luminous hands and hour markers. Date function at 3:00 position also shows day of the week, The face reads Chateau 5 ATM tested, and Swiss Made. The Case Back reads Stainless Steel Back, 5 ATM single tested, and base metal bezel. Watch is in running condition with only minor scratches to the crystal.

Sheffield Telemeter

Here is a good condition Swiss Made Sheffield watch dating from the 1940's or 1950's featuring a black dial with gold colored markers and luminous hands. Telemeter function works but does not reset, the subdials for seconds does not work. The face reads Sheffield Shock Resistant, T-Swiss Made and Telemeter 1km. The Case Back reads Stainless Steel Back, DIE CAST, Case Swiss Made and SWISS. Watch is in running condition minus the sub hands and telemeter reset.
